J.P Mannock Anti Grip cue
Pearwood shaft with Ebony machine spliced butt & hand spliced with 4 long Tulip wood splices and finally a single front facing splice of Rosewood.
Pearwood was probably chosen for the shaft because it is smoother than ash or maple and will not stick to the fingers. Hence, the description "Anti-Grip" which is applied to many Mannock cues. Fewer Mannock cues were made with Maple shafts or even rarer to see with an Ash shaft.
Sadly the original Mother of Pearl Badge was missing and has been replaced with a new copy of the original badge.
Very nice condition cue, however if you look at the photos of the ferrule you will see on side that the wood below it has had a repair at some time in its life.
Still shows visible signs of the Burroughes & Watts stamp below the name plate.
